FAQ's Question: What does College Prospects do for high school athletes? Answer: We provide personal promotion, national exposure and one-on-one guidance for every athlete enrolled. This includes direct phone calls to college coaches of the athlete's choice, a spot on CPOA’s national website for high school athletes, as well as an introductory and season-end academic/athletic profile of the student athlete mailed out to every college and university that offers their sport and that they are qualified for.
Question: What is your fee for your professional promotion? Answer: Our base price for an athlete's enrollment is a one-time fee of only $1310. This includes national exposure to all 4-year colleges in your son or daughter's sport. It also includes our personal promotion to college coaches, by phone, of your choice. Most importantly, all of our packages include local guidance for all of our athletes, here in our local Anchorage office.
Question: My son/daughter is only a junior. Are we too early for enrollment? Answer: Your junior year is the most important year in high school for your academic and athletic stats. By the time you are a senior, the college coaches have already assembled the athletes they want to follow and most often your senior stats come in too late to impress a college decision maker.
Question: I am already getting questionnaires from colleges, so why do I need to enroll with CPOA-Alaska? Answer: Simply put, until a college coach asks you for video footage and gets back to you with a personal phone call, you are NOT being considered as a serious recruit. Tens of thousands of H.S. athletes from all 50 states are mailed questionnaires each year, only to be disappointed because they never receive an offer from any college.
Question: Why should I pay for something I can do myself? Answer: CPOA offers three things -- cost/time effective exposure, guidance through the recruiting process, and the experience to help you make the right decision. CPOA's Regional Directors are trained to understand the latest recruiting regulations, how to determine potential, and how to help you communicate effectively with coaches to increase interest. This is our full time job -- but without CPOA, your son or daughters recruiting process will be a full time job!
Question: When should I start making an effort to get the attention of college coaches? Answer: As soon as you show potential. Many CPOA clients enroll in our service in their sophmore or junior year. In fact, in a recent survey, more than 65% of college coaches prefer to start recruiting during the sophomore year. The key is not to wait too long. The recruiting process is well underway by the time an athlete enters his or her final year of high school.
Question: I know I can play in college, but only a few local college coaches have called, and I'd like a better opportunity. Is that possible? Answer: Chances are that a lot of coaches would be interested but they have never heard of you. CPOA will market your ability to more than 2,000 colleges and 18,000 coaches in 50 US States -- ensuring that you will hear from multiple coaches and colleges, giving you multiple offers from which to choose
Question: I'm going to a camp next summer, and I expect lots of college coaches to see what I can do. Will that work? Answer: A college coach usually goes to a camp specifically to watch someone already on his or her list, not to "discover" new talent. If you utilize the CPOA service, college coach's will know about you and your ability -- and you'll be on coach's watch lists!
Question: My parents and I plan to write to several colleges to see if they are interested. Why should someone else do it? Answer: That's better than doing nothing at all, but you don't know if that school/coach has a roster spot available or has money available for scholarships. CPOA will market your skills to all colleges where you can play and perform academically -- allowing the coaches to determine if there's interest thus saving you time and giving you more choices from which to choose! Not every school needs a student-athlete with your skills -- and it will take you alot of time and effort to determine which specific schools need you. CPOA will help you identify the schools who need YOU cost and time effectively!
Also, coaches expect a certain bias from parents and athletes. |
